Be skin confident
I recently worked with Physiogel on being skin confident. Dry, sensitive skin doesn’t need to hold you back from your day-to-day life, relationships or activities. I shared my top tips for feeling skin confident and went along to film a small video too
1. Accept a level of uncertainty
You can’t always control how your skin looks, but you can control how you feel about it and how you manage it. Be practical and look after your skin by following a daily skin care regime and remember all women need to do this, so you’re not alone.
2. Compliment yourself
Try and give yourself a compliment every day and accept compliments from others. Concentrate on your strengths and focus on your overall appearance rather than the areas you are less happy with.
3. Make eye contact
Looking someone in the eyes creates trust and suggests that you are approachable. This can lead to positive interactions, which reinforces self-esteem.
Looking after your physical health is a great way to feel in charge of your body and build your confidence. Exercise helps to regulate the body stress hormone cortisol, and encourages the release of serotonin, which makes us feel happy, helping you to look and feel fantastic.
5. Ask for help and take action
Sometimes we all need a little reassurance and support, and when we allow ourselves to ask for support we feel valued and loved. These positive feelings help to boost confidence. Asking your dermatologist or beauty adviser for advice on how to manage dry, sensitive skin can help manage it in the long term.
